About Claire Abel, MSN, ARPN, FNP-BC, FNP-C
Claire Abel is a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner originally from Sulphur, Louisiana, who now proudly calls Iowa, Louisiana home, where she and her husband are raising their family. Claire is passionate about providing compassionate, patient-centered care to the people of southwest Louisiana through listening, building relationships, and partnering with patients to help them meet their healthcare goals.
Claire began her nursing career after graduating from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2013. She has worked as a Registered Nurse for over 13 years in several areas of healthcare, with extensive experience in women’s health, labor and delivery, and hospice care. She later earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2025 and became dual certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Claire believes in meeting patients where they are in their healthcare journey and creating individualized plans of care that fit each patient’s unique needs and lifestyle. She values being fully present during visits and strives to ensure every patient feels heard, respected, and supported.
She is an active member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Claire and her husband, Marcus, have five children and always welcome many “extra” kids into their home whom they love like family. Their busy household is filled with sports, school activities, family time, and community involvement. They are active members of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Iowa, Louisiana. Faith plays an important role in Claire’s life, and she strives to place God first in both her personal life and the care she provides to her patients.

Axcelicare is a Nurse-Practitioner managed practice, that was created with the concept of providing excellent, Christ-centered, whole-person primary care to all patients. This clinic is a compassionate, holistic integrative approach to primary care. Dr. Miller wanted to create a welcoming environment of peace and positivity, while helping people reach their health goals. She is inspired by the Bible Verse Deuteronomy (NIV) 31:6- "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."
